just wondering

rather new to NBA2K and recently bought NBA2K24. I don't buy every year . I buy one every other year.

For those gurus my question is:

when 2K DOES shut down a server what's ALL you CAN'T do?

ie...

Saved rosters?
My Eras?
NCAA rosters?
Scenarios?

etc...

like I said new to this game so was wondering how long my game server will last and what I CAN'T do anymore when they do?

It’s pretty similar (maybe identical) to how the game is right now if you boot it up with your internet disconnected. Try it.

Examples of stuff you won’t be able to do:

— Download stuff from 2KShare (you’ll only be able to save to/download from your local drive)
— Go into MyCAREER, MyTEAM, or any explicitly online modes (like Play Now Online)
— CONSOLE ONLY (I think): Load MyNBA saves/scenarios that have become tethered to the server through too much branding customization

so if I download a ncaa roster and save it and its a play now roster, would i still be able to use when the server is closed?

reason I'm asking is I don't buy nba2k games too often (like every other year) so I want to know if I play if buying the "newest" game is worth it?. Knowing it will only last me til that server is closed.

Ooh, didn't think of that. That makes sense, since MyCareer you go through the city and don't just play games like older versions.

I don't play career any more because the leveling makes it not fun, but still that stinks about it not being available.

I have always had bad luck pulling older 2k franchise save files off my PS cloud and being corrupted. So I recommend in this scenario, to save on the hard drive only.

Honestly just try disconnecting your internet and booting the game up, like I suggested. Poke around and see what you can do and what you can’t.
