Perhaps you dont complete much of the challenges, both media and coach, and according to 2k script might take it awhile to break to the starting lineup.
Many of the coach challenges through the game I complete, not all, but most of them. But the past few games I haven't gotten any challenges from the coach. I almost always complete the social media challenges, except the most recent in which Gary Payton wanted me to get 5 steals in a game. I'm sorry, but that's hard.

The scripted part when you're subbed out most of the 4th quarter,
And come in for the final shot- I missed. There was 1 second on the clock and I was triple teamed. Sue me. That was 20 games ago. I haven't had any scripting or storylines since. I haven't even seen my little friend agent since the all star break. It's now almost April. I am just worried that somehow I missed/answered incorrectly to a series of scripting, and now I'm just SOL. I appreciate the "realism" 2k is going for here, but when I'm putting up 20-40 points per game off the bench, it gets old. Fast.

Re: NBA 2K14 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Anyone having this problem?

I've started 3 different my careers and this had happened every single time. The game freezes every time I have my first 5 on 5 practice after a game. It's probably 8-10 game into the season. The ball gets thrown into my point guard, he begins to turn up the court and before he takes the first dribble it freezes. The players stance is identical in all 3 my careers I've started when the screen

Sucks I can't even play the game

I'm using a 7'2", back to the basket C. Doing quite well with him, focused on Post Hook and Post Fadeaway rating first, and have been coming along on the other ones since then. Well, his Post Hook rating is 90, his Shot Close rating is 84 – but he misses the baby hook: Every. Single. Time. Often badly, occasionally airballs it. It's really crazy. Pretty much any other post shot makes and misses at a realistic rate. But that baby hook… seriously, I don't think he's hit a single one. I always intentionally try to avoid even taking that shot if possible, so when I'm backing down and I get too close to the rim, I usually try to take a step back shot instead, since I know that baby hook is not going in.

Is anyone else using a PF or C seeing this at all?
The post-hook (usually 4-6 feet away because if I back straight down to the rim I go out of bounds on the move and off the BACK of the board ..2k physics anyway!) is actually my go-to shot with my 7'1 center.. still have to raise the shot in traffic etc I think to be more consistent.. plus the consistency skill itself. In one of the 'outscore Jackson Ellis' scenarios I ball hogged on purpose and made 19 of 20 of those just to be sure and outscore him and win the game since the 76ers are crap if I don't score 30-40.

It sounds like you're in the version where you're first start will be in the playoffs.. I see that mentioned here a lot, it's not realistic that a coach starts you the first time EVER, in a playoff game.. some even land their shoe deal in the playoffs though I hope to do that sooner, sine I've started 15 games as of February 1st (48 total games counting the 2 you don't get to play in to start your career)

Playing big is great cause you get to impact every play alot, even if youre away from the ball. I just try to stay patient and let the action come to me and theres definitely no shortage on opportunities. I just wish the cpu could defend me better. Love the occasional battles with other premier bigs where its not as easy to just back them down under the rim and slam the ball on their heads.
The defense "SEEMS" to be getting better on me every game as I score more.. I'm double-teamed without the ball a lot.. and triple teamed with the ball.. if only Thaddeus Young would SHOOT when I pass out of the triple team.. he's the open guy every time

Like I said a couple of posts above, this is not a freeze - it's a missing text box. What used to happen was the scrimmage would start, then after a second when the ball's been inbounded, you'd get a text box saying something along the lines of "practicing against the first team can help you learn how to play alongside them better yadi yadi yada", then you press x to resume. Just press x man, and it'll resume. Or atleast, that's how it is on my end since patch 3, I just really hope that works for you guys too.

I REALLY miss playing with DeMarcus Cousins, who's been injured for the past 10 weeks. Having another badass big to team up with makes things alot more fun. Jason Thompson isn't moving around half as much, isn't chasing after rebounds, and misses everything but wide open layups.

Re: NBA 2K14 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Does anybody know how long it takes to ask for a trade request after you have been traded?

I played with the 76ers, but I found it totally unrealistic, them drafting me and at one point putting Nerlens Noel on the bench. On top of that, I just couldn't get the hang of playing with Turner and Young.

Since I knew I was gonna ask for a trade, I stayed at a 64 rating. I asked for a trade, and got traded to the Raptors for Valanciunas + 1st round pick (trade-logic, anyone?). Now, not to piss someone off, but I have absolutely NOTHING with the Raptors. I don't wanna be there. Pretty much the only team in the league I really do not want to be at.

Weird thing was, I asked for a trade to Portland or Dallas (no 1 en 2 on the list of interested teams), and Toronto wasn't even one of the teams with a green bar.

So, does anyone know if I have to again play 32 games before being able to ask for a trade?

See and I play with Real % or whatever (where it's the ratings themselves that are supposed to matter, as opposed to shot release timing), so I don't think the timing is the issue for me (I don't get a shot release rating when I take any shots).

Yeah, I can hit the "standard" hook shots just fine (the ones you describe, where it's about 6 feet out and he takes a little hop / gather-step before the hook). It's when I get closer than that, almost right at the rim, and he does the baby hook. Those are the ones I never, ever hit. It's really strange seeing those shots airball, which they do occasionally.
