Go to settings during a plane ride or something, R2 until you see the option to change it

Re: NBA 2K14 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Here's my career so far.

6'9" Small Forward, drafted #4 to the Bobcats.

Saw no floor time in the first two games, but celebrated with the team during a timeout and agreed to carry Brendon Haywood's bags after he hazed me. So my chemistry is pretty high. It also helps that we're somehow around 6-1 to date (I hate that as it's not realistic!)

Game 3 MKG goes down to injury and coach gives me a chance to close out the game. I end up going off to the tune of 13 pts, 7 reb, 1 ast, 1 blk, 3 stl in 10 min and got my first and only "player of the game" honor.

Coach was impressed and I've climbed to 6th man with 20 min in the rotation. I told the GM everything is going good to earn brownie points with him. I also stay and watch tape with Al Jefferson increasing our relationship as well. Oh yeah I also passed the ball to big Al when the announcers were making a big deal about him REALLY calling for it. He ended up getting a back court violation but he and the media seemed very happy about me passing him the ball that one time, lol. Guess I'm a great teammate.

One thing I LOVE in this mode (GM mode as well) is points of emphasis. I'm constantly clicking the right arrow seeing what coach wants us to do as a team. Whether it's feed Jefferson, attack the basket, crash the boards, help on CP3, etc. I really try to do whatever the coach wants. Makes the actual games (you know the stuff between the RPG) a lot more fun.

In GM mode I control the POE, but in this mode I like trying to accomplish coaches goals.

Re: NBA 2K14 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

I'm a 6'10 SF, got picked 5 to the Suns. I need minutes tho, and because of that I can get barely any VC. I usually get 20/5/2.

I had 33/11/3 in the showcase.

Do you have to sign with Nike or Jordan? Or can you wear whatever shoes you want?

Someone must have played 5 games by now and know the answer to this.

Rookie Showcase: ended up with 16pts, 9reb, 5ast, went 4th (this surprised me) in the draft to Charlotte. Athletic SF.

Pros:
-Gameplay is awesome. Can feel the footplanting but yet the movement doesn't feel sluggish or heavily weighted, especially when changing directions.

-Graphics are a nice step up from current gen. Aminations seem smoother as a whole, and definitely more lifelike.

-Presentation is nice and clean. Love that you can assign arena sounds to certain actions of your player. Very nice touch.

Cons:

-Cutscenes are super cheddar and unnecessary. I'm not a big fan of off-the-court related musings, would rather see more depth with basketball related things, stats, AI logic, etc....

-Not seeing an option to change quarter length (WTF, mildly gamebreaking, especially for stat-driven players)

-No sitdowns with the GM anymore? Mode is missing lots of things that other posters have mentioned (CAP & customization, practice/drills/shootaround)

I assumed that this mode would be a "lite" version of the current gen, but I wonder if the gameplay alone can keep me interested to get through a season (although an announcement of carry-over saves for next year would do it instantly, LOL). The game plays like butter, but not being able to sim and play key games, and apparently having zero say so in terms of trades & playing with other teammates can really zap the lifespan of the mode. All in all I dig it though, going to try to bust through about 20-30 games and maybe I'll have some more succinct observations and opinions to share. Kind of all over the place at the moment. Off to play a couple more games (we are 6-6 right now)
The minutes thing you guys have to change that on the 2k Nav thing that pops up like during when you drive the car to the game

I've tried that, still don't see it. Can anyone post a screenshot showing that you can in fact change the quarter length?
