I really hate the way this game under utilizes the old start/back buttons. bringing up the guide and changing the camera angle are such a waste.

I'm surprised spam steal doesn't work for you. Works very well for me (especially when preventing fast break layups or scores off drives) and is listed in the manual as an intentional foul (in addition to L1+R1).

nope. 6 seconds left in a game down by 1 i want to intentionally foul and i spam the hell out of steal and it doesnt do anything. it should be a one button thing. i feel like i'm canceling out of the initial intentional foul command by pressing it so many times. its just wonky. i don't get why they'd take the button away when its such an integral part of basketball

You have to spam square on the player who has the ball to intentional foul . If your playing off ball you hold L1+R1 .
