I got to the all star break and never saw either contest nor was able to participate it in it. Does this change in the second season?

Same here, I got invited to the dunk contest, rising stars game, and all star game. Wasn't allowed to participate in the dunk contest. It just skipped it.

I heard about some kind of bug that auto sims around the all star break. Perhaps this is part of it. I'm almost at the all star break in my second season so I guess I'll see what the deal is since this auto sim bug was apparently patched in patch 3.

I'll report back here with my findings. :/

I was invited to the dunk contest in mycareer - I wanted to actually play in it, but wasn't given the option. A screen comes up saying "You've been selected to participate in the all-star weekend" and both the dunk contest and rising stars game were highlighted. The only input allowed on this screen was X to dismiss. I hit X, took me to the rising stars game, and that was it. No playable dunk contest.

Pretty disappointing

Maybe it was just an invite to watch it. Hopefully, especially since I dunk a lot in games now and have for this whole second seas; I will get the option to participate in the dunk contest.

We'll see.
