Point Guard never there for inbounds pass

In my Rockets franchise, I have the hardest time making sure Jeremy Lin or my backup PG Aaron Brooks are there for the inbounds pass after the opponent makes a hoop. This is ESPECIALLY the case when Lamar Odom is in for me whom I signed to a one year deal. I get he is a "point forward" in some retrospect, but most of the time I simply just want my point guard bringing the ball up. It is annoying to have to hit R1 and X and make Lin run to get the inbounds pass after every made basket.

**Also any advice on defense would be awesome. The opponents point guard always takes the ball up and out of nowhere I might have Asik or Parsons guarding the point guard when I have Lin assigned to him. Is this stuff happening to others? Thanks guys!
