    Flashy Passing

I was toying with these on and off for a while. I maxed out the signature just to give it a good effort and it seems okay, like where I feel a certain pass wouldn't have gotten through and looked fancy as hell in the paint. But sometimes (a lot of times) I will push the right stick towards a teammate to my right and it will literally throw the pass at the complete opposite end of the court and direction. I have the pro stick set to camera relevant and tried absolute. It's definitely not at I am pushing in the wrong direction.

I am playing on HOF sim. Am I wasting my time with these or do they get pimp once you master it?

    Re: Flashy Passing

I have not tried the flashy pass sig skill yet on MyTeam. From what I have read, Flashy passing is like the alley oop. Meaning there is an automatic % for error when you flash pass. Therefore I would highly suggest you only flash pass with someone who has that sig skill.

Every so often, when I am in the post doing an aggressive backdown, I will accidentally press both L2 and move the right stick. This causes my PF or C to Flash pass. I have post playmaker equipped and I find those passes have been accurate and it has worked out for me. Granted, my post players have a 72-75 pass rating so that may mean nothing.

      Re: Flashy Passing

To the OP: I have that problem regularly when I try flashy passes. The game seems to not read the direction well at all. Heaven help you if there are a few teammates in a general area.

The passing in general in 2k14 is a step back from 2k13, where they had refined directional passing to be fairly reliable in which teammate you would hit. If I am not icon passing, there is a fair chance that my pass will go a completely different direction than what the foot indicator says it should, and especially when you get caught in one of those contested dribble animations that last 2 or 3 seconds.

Yeah, these are my thoughts exactly. Which is why I rid My Player of the flashy signature. It's just not worth a slot. Especially since if you pass at certain areas he pulls some impressive stuff just using a the regular button.

I do wish they would tighten up flashy passing though. I threw one to my C after a pick and roll and it looked so pretty. But like you said, it just isn't reliable enough. They should have just made it if you have the signature skill then normal passes would be flashy more often. This would allow icon flashy passes and more fluid executions.
