If you foul him, yeah. It's easy to whether the player is trying to pass the ball or shoot it.

A hail mary is the name of that sort of shot. Why are you trying to steal it at half court when he's shooting from there? Mistake was on your side, not the refs.

Also; it's a game, sold in millions of copies. Of the thousands of games being played everyday strange things are gonna happen in some. Nothing strange.

I had Kawhi Leonard make a full court shot while the CPU reached and fouled. Unfortunately it wasn't recorded, but it was insane.
