2K14 does look slightly better to me, but I think it's because of the lighting and the bad face KD is making on the right.
The logos are going to be on the back of the jersey's next season.

On the comparison, the 2k14 KD pic looks more like KD to me, but the 2k15 could just be because he's "mean muggin" in the pic. I need to see more.

With the emphasis they've put on KD's involvement in the game. I'm going to say the only reason the left looks more like him is because he's mean muggin. Perhaps just showing that emotion will be more emphasized in the game this year.

Really? I didn't know that. I thought the only thing that was being added to the back was the gold tabs for teams that won championships. Not the actual NBA logo.

And I agree 100%.

This Instagram video probably isn't the best material to do a side by side with....

Yup, If you look at this picture you can see only the Heat have the logo on the front.

Here's the new Hornets jerseys

Spoiler

Get ready for ads on the front. I wonder if 2k will have them too?

Yep. I've looked it up and when they showed the Charlotte Hornets jersey, it was on the back.

What you think about that? Like it or prefer the original way?

Hard to tell much. The lighting looks better in 2k15 in terms of realism. But his shoulders and chest are still way too big, and the jersey doesn't fit right. Also, skin tone looks a little better in 2k14, although that may be under different lighting. It's hard to gather much from such a short video and one comparison image.
