On a side note I keep seeing different release dates, in a few places including the link above it states 10.10 but I thought it was 10.7

10.10 is the european release date. They release games on Friday in Europe as opposed to Tuesday in the US

Right, but if you go to the event, you can play it on Aug. 31st.

I'm guessing this would be the final product or would this still be the Gamescom version? I know games go gold a month before, so that would be about the week afterwards.

Steve, I think you need to look into the site's budget to work some numbers and get over to the UK

Nope, Steam does not unlock it until the Release. No matter if you already have your Key.
You need to use a VPN to play it before official EU Release.
