    Buy the game from marketplace?

    Hey guys

just wondering if you know when the game will be avalaible for download on marketplace for xbox one. Will it be the 7th of october?

Any of you will download it from there instead of phisically buying the copy? I moved to south america for a while, so my only way to have it in the release date is to buy it and download it.

Did any of you already bought games like that? any experienced problem?

    thanks!

Honestly getting games from the Xbox market place or PSN is a bad deal but I can understand you going for it if that's the only way to get the game on release day.

You shoudn't experience any problems though.

Because he's one of those people that likes to buy and sell back games or loan/borrow the game. Some people are like that. I would agree that there is disk space issue issue there as well, but I would MUCH prefer digital because I can't lose or break it. And I can give the middle finger to Gamestop.

        In short

        Cons:
        1. You can't sell the game
        2. You can't loan out the game
        3. Playing the game on another system is doable, but not hassle free
        4. Takes up disc space

        Pros:
        1. You can't lose the game
        2. You can't break the game
        3. It can't be stolen
        4. You can buy the game from anywhere without going to a store.
        5. In some cases - no sales tax!

Another con is also that you can buy the game on the internet for cheaper than on the PSN or market place and plus you can still sell it and get value back from it. So money wise it's a bad deal.

Digital games should be cheaper than the solid version not the other way around. That should be one of the benefit of getting the digital version.

Unless you absolutely think the game is a keeper, then by all mean go digital. If the game suck, then it stains your harddrive forever. Where as if you buy the game on disc....you can still sell it for about half a profit if you don't like it. That's how i sell most of my games. Just sold my NBA2K14 a couple weeks ago for $20 bucks. Better than nothing. I don't want to keep the game that I anticipate of not playing it again. Especially when 2K15 is about to come out. The ONLY game i download digital so far is The Last Of Us. Next one is probably GTA V.

                Gamestop isn't all that bad...

They had a deal going on so I sold Madden 25, UFC, and Call of Duty and got enough to pay off Madden 15 and Destiny...just look for the deals..

Otherwise if you buy physical and are done with a game, go on Craigslist or Ebay and sell it for $5 less than it is used at Gamestop. You still come out way ahead.

I agreed that digital version should be cheaper than disc because once you bought it...its value become zero. In other words, you can't sell it anymore. Also, they don't need to create boxes and manuals for the digital (i am sure it costs money to produce those boxes and manuals right?). So it should have less value compare to disc. But I am sure Sony don't give a damm about it (and why should they?). They want to maximize profit. If they make it cheaper, everyone will be buying off digital and Gamestop and retailers will be out of business lol.

Re: Buy the game from marketplace?

Personally, I just bought my xbox one to play NBA 2k and (maybe) Fifa. Sure i will probably buy some more games in the future, but the probability to fill up my entire disk space are really low

After I spent and lost 65 euro for NBA 2k14 since the game was so ugly and i only played it couple times, I guess NBA 2k15 won't be worst than that, so It's worth to risK!

                    thank you!

Just wanted to point out a couple things, the digital copy takes up the same amount of space as the disc copy, taking up disc space cant be a con unless its a con for both purchasing options. Playing the game on another system is as simple as logging into your account and downloading it on there unless you find downloading to be a hassle. HOWEVER if you have an Xbox One you can store your games on an external HDD and carry them around like that but just log into your account to play, no downloading required.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I explained to my wife that videogames have their own economy lol. She actually thought that was cool since she hates videogames and thinks its a bad hobby. But her being in finance, she could appreciate what I was doing selling games back to the store - the one time she was with me, EbGames gave me $17 credit after trading in 3 or 4 games and grabbing one 'for free'...

What other industry can you do that? Blu-Ray disks? hardly as effective. I think it's great - I call it it's own 'eco-system' lol ... plus if you're really on the ball you maximize your sales - I traded in 2k14 about a month and a half ago and got great value at about $34

Some games have crap value sure, but overall, trading in games is the way to go financially it's a no-brainer.

Not on release. And with no shipping or sales tax, it's not cheaper. And already listed the sell back part.

I totally agree. Blame the big retailers for strong arming this one.

Yes and no. Digital has a few more files, but not enough to make it a con. So I stand corrected.

And that's all well and good. Yet, people complain as games move to a new financial model to make up for the losses incurred by this practice. We can't have it both ways. The games are not getting cheaper to make. They have a price for a reason. When we circumvent that, we force these people to look for other sources of revenue to stay afloat. I'm just saying this because I HATE the new models. I appreciate buying my game and being done with spending. I'm willing to pay full price if the game is worth it. Otherwise, I just don't buy it all. Simple and fair.
