To be fair, they've really tapped into a gamers mind with the painfully slow progression system. This is exactly how many FTP games incentivize people to spend more money.

They really do.

But to be honest, for as hard as I work in real life...I'm not about to grind and play a bunch of games just to make my MyPlayer be able to run fast and jump high, pretending that prospects don't occasionally come in as world-class athletes, but raw bball players. 2K got me. They start you out with some pedestrian attributes, to promote purchasing VC.

BUT, to be fair, the dudes who pound their chest saying that they played 30+ games, logged a bunch of hours, to "earn" enough VC to accomplish what it is that I normally do (raise athletic attributes, which is easily over 40,000 VC this year)...that's equally as silly.

Clearly 2K got the message and scaled back the use of the stuff to the 2 places it should really be present, so...this whole "ewwww, you buy VC" stuff is just as childish as the dudes who drop $50 to get a 90+ overall before they play one MyCareer game.
