Unable to access anything online

So I'm not sure what's going on. I booted up the game on my XBox, and it prompted me to create my My Player. I did the face scan (which worked surprisingly well, outside of the horrible hair/facial hair options), and it uploaded and brought me to the main menu. But the My Career option says No VC (offline). When I go to the connect tab, it prompts me to create the My Player again. If I do that, it just takes me back to the main menu again, with the same offline modes.

Has anyone else run into this? I'm not getting any errors, but it just doesn't want to make anything online available.

Edit: It is also prompting me to recreate the My Player every time I boot up the game.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm in the process of reinstalling.

No wouldn't do that. It's sounds like you can't get your profile from XBL.
