PG drives, begging to get swatted, you press triangle as hard as you can... no jump

Finger rolls right in Noah's face as I'm there expecting to send it to the other basket, and nada. Sometimes they slide back, which is even more frustrating

While that happens I keep trying to remind myself to tap triangle again but I just get hype and jam down on the button once thinking I'll go up.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Yes. It also happens very often on attempting rebounds. I am certain I am pressing the button, but no action happens in game.

i Hate this, and it always happens on this one finger roll animation. other times someone bumps my legs, so i can buy it, but that specific animation is like a "posterizer layup" lmao

I've got a clip in myplayer where you can tell when I push the button because I start to go up for the block, but instead it shifts me into a different animation.

That's terribly frustrating.

It's wierd because it happens but it's not like it was to let play out a specific animation like a poster or something like that. It happens at different moments for no real reason. Like the same situation could play out twice, once you're gonna press the triangle button and you're gonna jump and contest and the other time nothing happens.

I'am guessing it's something that can be improved since it's not by design.

Yes this happens to me also and I hate it, shot blockers are weak in this game. it needs to be patch asap!

Hate that finger roll, it's so disrespectful. Like it's no respect for the height difference or shot blocker, you think these canned animations wouldn't exist after everyone complained about that posterizer dunk last year.

This and some of the offensive rebound/clipping putbacks causes me to rage. Makes using teams with great shot blockers useless.

This happens to me all the time as well. Very frustrating when you're playing for money online and you're in position for a great block but you press triangle and there's no response.

I've been meaning to post about this. Yes it's frustrating as ****. Another thing that annoys me is when I'm in good defensive position, but then get sucked into a shot contest animation. This wouldn't be so bad but the guy will almost certainly make the shot, and then when he does I take a hit for bad shot defense. If he's going to make the shot at least give me credit for playing good defense. I think it was 2K10 that did a good job with letting you jump out of these animations. Now you can't do anything.

blocking at 58 helps, but theres no sliders online or myplayer

Blocking in MyCareer is really tied to timing and position. Timing the animation of the shooter and positioning so that you actually "hit" the ball instead of ghosting through it.

or they go up for the shot, suck you into the animation, and then drop a dime off to your man directly under the goal when you aren't even trying to contest the shot

I play PF and this happens all the time. Try hitting R2 plus Square(PS4) for a aggressive block.
