Layups in this game are brutal...

I think it's way too many close misses period by the user teams.


But I just adjust my sliders and move on.

this game drive me nuts sometimes. you go for a wide open layup when you beat the defender off dribble. klank. you miss the shot. the computer does the same play gets fouled. spins in the air and throws the ball over his shoulder. swish. they need to tweak open lay ups a bit. contact layups i understand. even some 7 footers miss layups. but wide open layups from players with good ratings should not happen as much as it does.

this game seems to punish you for good play. everytime you get a one up on the cpu it uses its powers to 1up you. it cheats all the time.

I don't care who you are, wide open, no defender in your face layups should be going in 99.9 percent of the time.

I don't need a lesson on the rate of missed shots in the NBA, I watch enough basketball to know how the game is played. I know that contested layups are missed a lot, that's not an issue. And yes, I also know the rare occurrence where we see blown layups on blooper videos, but this is an entirely different story.

The rate at which it happens in this game is ludicrous.

In fact, the very notion that missed wide-open layups are on blooper reels is proof of how very rarely it happens in practice.

Fact is, with the level of talent at the NBA level, wide open uncontested layup misses are extremely rare imo, and I know at lower levels that's grounds for an automatic benching unless you're a star player.
