Face Scan on Xbox 1 Not Worth It....

Me and my friends had to set up a mini studio to get it to work half decently. The most reference points we got were 3400. Coincidentally, I tried it again at my house during the day and it looked better than the scans with much more lighting. With just normal daylight I got 3500+ reference points.





I sat as close as I could to the Kinect and had my chin at the bottom of the green box and a little above the middle of my forehead for the top.

What I have noticed is that the face scan heavily relies on the tracking feature on the Kinect so for starters you have to place the Kinect on a stand of some sort (I had space on my TV stand), if you have a TV mount for the Kinect I would take it off as well.

Once you have it on the stand then try stand or sit a few feet back from the Kinect so it can track your head, you might have to raise your hand or just move around. I know it sounds silly but it will work. Once it tracks your head try to get as close as you can to the Kinect without it losing track of your head, if it does then just back up just a tad and then let it scan.

As far as lighting how I did my best scan was using just natural light and placing my iPhone flashlight direct behind the Kinect and it gave me the best results. I have gotten the best result with 3,200 reference points.

Real talk man. I wouldn't even post it if it wasn't true. I went at it for days trying and I always over did the lighting tried it in the dark and it worked and the scan went fast as hell. My wife watched me do it and was trippin that it worked in the dark and not once in the light. With light I kept getting 4 eyes, nose ****ed up, 2 sets of lips, all the disfigurements. Not once in the dark did those happen.

I tried it 3 times in the dark. still no progress.


I just got home not too long ago. on my third scan and still nothing. I have only played 2 games since I've had this.


sadly my den now looks like a photo studio. lights everywhere, brown covers, phone lights. expecting my electric to be high this month.

Seriously how do you avoid the double mouth and eyes. I average 3k reference points and headshape and skin tone will be spot on but my eyes are always too low. I've tried showing more of my chin, I've tried using white paper, camera eye level and still nothing
