-Sign out of PSN.

-Load game but don't sign in when it prompts you. Just press B

-Now sign in to PSN and connect to 2K servers.

-Vola, you now have the newest roster.
Nice will try. Hopefully it works for the PC too.

Edit: Confirmed... works for PC.

Mods, this should be stickied as it is a confirmed workaround for this issue until (hopefully) a fix is found. Also perhaps the workaround itself gives a clue to the devs as to what the problem is.

Just to clarify, you dont need to sign out before starting the game or reboot the game. In fact you need to be signed in at the main menu intially to "download" the newest roster. In other words, you need to have the "New Content is Available, Return to the Main Menu" box pop up. Once you've seen that, return to the main menu, let it load, then sign out of PSN at anytime.

Now go to Create Roster, and if you're signed out it'll say "New Roster" at the top tab instead of "Official Roster" and "Injury Free."

When I first tried the OP workaround it gave me the 10-24 roster (which was already an improvement). When I signed back in, got the pop up message, returned to the 2k main menu, then signed out and went to Create Roster>New Roster, I got today's update and was able to edit and save.

So far, I have not encountered any bugs using this workaround.

Again, great work cdk10! Can't believe this thread was ignored.

So, once you save the newest roster locally, can you just go back, load it and keep editing it or do you have to do this every time you turn the game on?

you only have to do it once then save. But for every update you will have to do it again.

Re: Workaround for Downloading Newest Roster

Ok so I'm new the playstation was on 360 last gen, I read this thread last night and tried for like 30 mins to do what you guys were saying about signing out of my pen, but for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. Is it something I do in game on the 2k menu (and how) or is it done from the playstation menu? I'm just so lost any help would be appreciated?

Cool, going to try this.

By press B, do you mean O on PS4? Or is there an actual Red B to press on screen?

Thanks for the workaround

Playstation menu. So if you're in 2k already, press the PS button on the controller, go to settings, then PSN, then choose sign out, then go back to the game where it should tell you that you're no longer connected to 2k's servers.

From there: Options/Features-> CreateRoster-> New Roster. Name the file, edit, then save roster.
