Why are the shooting sliders for Default and Simulation different? Why are Default at 50 and the Midrange and 3PT at 45 and 47. What's wrong with it being at 50?

The shooting percentages will be unrealistic with all the sliders at 50, hence the moniker "simulation. " Remember, the average field goal percentage for last season was 45% with 3 pointers at 36%. Miami was the only team in the league to shoot 50% or better for the season.

Many players interested in a sim experience actually lower the sliders from simulation settings and use real shooting % instead of shot stick timing. I do this with the numbers at 39/39/43/46 and I get game stats that range from 39% to 50% with an average near 45%

Even with the simulation settings I'll shoot over 50% the majority of my games.

It's all about personal preference and how much one emphasizes realistic stats.

My personal preference is to play with User timed shots, that way my actual skill in shooting effects whether the shot goes in or not. However, the downside to this is that once you start getting good at the player shot timings, you can make more shots than what's realistic in the NBA. And that's where the sliders come in. I then can lower the User shooting sliders so that the timing becomes more difficult and more or less the realistic amount of shots go in. I play on all star, and have user sliders at

Close: 38
Inside: 38
Mid: 42
3 Point: 44

CPU is a little higher, 38, 38, 43, 48.

I think these numbers should be different for everyone based on your skill level and style of play.
I also have several of the CPU defense and shot contest sliders cranked up
so it's challenging for myself.
