I know In the real NBA if you release someone you have to pay the rest of their money and/ can use the stretch provision

If I cut a guy that has 2years 20milliom left on his deal, do I still pay 10mil the next 2 years and it counts against the cap both years?

And what if the 2nd year was a player option. Does that still guarantee the $?

If it's a 2 year deal, yes he's on your books, if its a 1+1 option, he is only on your books for the one year. And I don't believe there is the stretch provision in this game.
