Shot meter is broken

First off a perfect release is impossible and even when getting close to the white line in the middle you still brick. The shot meter is completely random I've made contested shots and missed wide open jump shots. The meter takes away the ability to master a players unique shot. I think this worst idea 2k has ever came up with. Almost as bad as the madden vision cone

wow, im having a completely different experience than you

for me the shot meter is so good it killed shot stick timing shooting for me.

Ive always used shot stick timing on my shooting since 2k6 i think, but this shot meter has me averagin 35 with nick young on 70% shooting, its too damn easy...

now im using real player FG% and can finally play a realistic game again

I just turn off the shot meter.

You still get the feedback, so you know if you were late or early.

Then you can just focus on the shooters animation for timing instead of staring at the players feet and trying to time it.

I get more excellent releases this way.

It's not any different than in previous years, except now you can see exactly how early or late you are. Just turn it off if it's bothering you that much.

I have no issues with hitting shots and get my fair share of perfect releases. I just don't like how the game lies.

It shouldn't label a shot slightly early or slightly late if it wasn't. Even with the meter off. It should just be like last year. Excellent release and if it misses, it misses.

However, it is quite satisfying yo get that green lettering and know that shot is falling. They should've just made it possible to get a perfect release every time unless you are contested or late contested (without Dead Eye).

2k simply overestimated player's ability to get a perfect release often.

yeah, i've turned the shot meter off as it was too distracting. I left shot feedback on, but with the shot meter turned off you can focus more on the animation instead of staring at the meter. it feels more natural and my shot success has gone up after turning the meter off.

so i have finally discovered that even if you get a perfect release and hit the green icon ring, you can still miss...i had a wide open shot on the left side of the court outside the paint with Klay Thompson and it was perfect , yet he bricks it off the glass....wtf

How do you turn shot meter off on park? I turned it off in settings but its still there and its annoying as fk.

When you turn the game on, go to the far right option, then go into options in that menu and turn it off. The master option is the only way to cut it off online for some reason.

I never use the meter by watching during the shot, I look at it afterward to adjust my "feel" for the particular players shot. I think it is a great feedback tool but a bad tool to use as your main shooting release decision point, as it breaks immersion, and appears to a be more difficult way to hit the sweet spot of the shot. The shot animation is still a better reference point on the fly, IMO.

From what I'm seeing try to disable the shot meter. I am just like you, stare at their feet and trying to get it on the middle mark. When I get home I'm going to disable the shot meter and try to release the ball at the top of my shot I'll tell you how that goes.

The corner angles are bugged this year for sure. I always get nervous when I or a player shoots from the corner. It hits the glass 50% of the time. Even when passing. It's very odd.

Corner threes are indeed a crap shoot this year. did 2k not get the memo that it's the most efficient 3 pt shot in real life?
