    Play Calling Questions

Is there a way to streamline the play calling options a bit? I find it a bit overwhelming at times for some players. For example, I'll see 4 pages of stuff and not be sure what type of play im calling.

For many players I don't need anymore than 2-3 pages max

    Re: Play Calling Questions

You can add and remove plays for each player. You can also set it to auto to run plays for you plus your points of emphasis will dictate what type of plays are automatically called. Then you also got your freelance, motion, spacing and quick sets.

Also, you can opt to give every player one set of plays to make it simpler. Maybe you just want your PG to have PR Ball Handler or your big man to only have Low Post plays.

        Thank you!!

I just want some sets that are easy for me to remember that utilize the player's main strengths

Agreed OP. I find voice control to be the easiest way to play call, although it's lacking in the play types you can call (limited to pick and roll, 3 pointer, post play, and isolation).

Being able to call a play type by position (ie: pick and roll curry) is so much easier than sifting through 4 pages of plays by name and having no clue what type of play I'm running.

I never thought of this probably because my wife would immediately tell me to shut up and "why do you keep yelling pick and roll? What the hell are you doing in there?"

I didnt think you could change the plays. On the screen you can toggle between the 2 lists by pressing Y/Triangle, but cant change them.

The speed thats is applied on play calling is turtle like
in real games you see screens and players sprinting to get to their spot
in 2k its slow mo ..

also to initiate the play takes away the fun its soooo aluggish amd slow

they should ve have differences in play execution the higher level u play on

How do you add a specific play to a specific player? I tried that a few times adding a play to Klay Thompson that I'm able to run for Curry but it won't work. It always says that the play is already in the Warriors' playbook and I can't find another option to add plays.

I'm on xbox1 playing 2k14 still and it's automatically setup if I have kinetic plugged in. All the voice controls are in the in-game user manual.

You can use it for substitutions, timeouts, defensive sets, and in myplayer there are a whole slew of other commands available (ie: shoot that, pass me the ball...).

I really use it mainly for subs now since it's so much easier to do on the fly (ie: substitute lowry for williams) vs trying to sub manually while the game is going on. I still use it for the odd play call, but again, the voice command options are so limited for play calling that the bulk of my calls are done via the playbook.

Just be careful if you do use it as you will get a tech for foul language (no joke), but thankfully it's limited to 1 per game.
