Constantly online requirement

I'm finding this incredibly annoying. I'm English but live in Spain right now because of my degree requirements and the connection here is sketchy at best. Which means quite often I'll be halfway through a game on MyCareer and I'll be kicked from my offline game, because my internet dropped. It doesn't do a Save and Quit, it just straight up erases your progress in that game. Now I won't lie, when I'm down by 10 in the 3rd quarter and it does this, I don't get overly mad but when I'm winning just before the half almost at a triple double already and it does this, it's tiring. Why are 2K persisting with this? It doesn't benefit anyone.

Umm your in Spain and all you can find to do is play video games. Go explore and find some hot locals to play with.

OP; Yeah it sucks. iirc it has something to do with VC. All I know is it has dampered my will to play because of the online requirement. I have good, reliable internet but it never fails whenever I have one great game going it drops connection and I lose everything.

Yea.... it's the reason I never got into those things. The whole VC thing turned me off big time.

^^ Yeah the whole VC thing can be pretty annoying too. Last year half my MCs corrupted due to the server issues and all the VC I'd earned and spent on my player was useless. It's a shame but modern gaming, I suppose.

Wait. It still has to be constantly connected? I got it on a Black Friday deal and haven't messed with it much because I'm so stuck on FIFA. I only want to play offline My League. It won't disconnect and mess up my games in THAT, will it?

As far as I know it's across the board. I'm solely a MC player so I don't know for MyLeague or MyGM but I imagine it's the same for that.

Side note for ^ we'd better beat United on Sunday.

Myleague does not have to be connected online. A few weeks back I had just completed a 12min quarters game and it froze while giving me VC. I don't need VC and didn't want to freeze again so now I unplug when I play 2k.
