What setting do I need to change to be able to call plays? The only thing I'm able to do is call for a guy to post up, another guy to cut to basket, another guy to get open.

I would like to call individual plays.

You press L1 or Left bummer to bring up the icons for each player. And then the menu of the plays will show up. And then you press the directional pad for the play you want.

This may sound like a stupid question.. Is this your first time playing this game?

I hope they change the play calling system to the way it was. I've had the ball stolen from me because I have to press the D-Pad.

Something else that may help you understand the play calling system. The video below is from 2k12 but the same concepts exist in 2k15. The main difference is using the d-pad to call the play.
