If you're playing on PS4, the connection has been slow. To bypass that you have to lower the MTU value under set-up connection. This is for all online games. Any other platform, IDK what to tell you.

There are videos all about it. The auto MTU is set to 1500. Just lower it to 1473. All of this is under set-up connection in the network settings.

Network Engineer here....

Ill try to keep it simple

Most Networking equipment is defaulted to send data in 1500 byte "chunks" call Frames before it fragments it.

Depending on how the network is set up, the devices themselves add headers and trailer to the data to allow it to transmit. Things like VLAN Tags, MPLS tags, IPSec, CRCs...etc. When thats happens it adds to that 1500 bytes making the size greater, therefore causing the Network devices to fragment the data

More than likely after the DDOS attacks, Sony/MS engineers add some type of IPsec or something similar, causing the data size to increase pass 1500 bytes, we call these Jumbo Frames. Now modern Network equipment can support Jumbo frames, but every device it pass through has to turn it on, something we can control.

So the trick here it to lowering the data size to 1473 at its creation point, so whatever the Network devices adds to it, it keeps it from fragmenting
