Can't sign free agents?

Two of my guards are gone for the year with torn ACLs. I need to cut someone to sign another guard, but it tells me that I must have 13 players when I try to cut someone. And if I try to sign a free agent, it tells me I have to cut someone first. Help?

Had this same problem. The only thing I could do was trade one of my other players for a PG. Definitely ridiculous.

Can you not just edit the injury's away, make your moves, and then just put the injuries back?

Do what Shady Mike said. It is a huge and stupid flaw in the game and the only workaround is editing out an injury (and editing it back if you so desire).

Next year 2k needs to offer injury exceptions like in real life and also allow you to make roster moves that put you over the limit or under the limit all the way up until game time. IRL I can sign people all I want as long as I cut my roster down to the limit by tipoff.
