Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
Was thinking the same thing. Wanted to start the playoffs and couldn't why is this gone -
Where is Nba playoffs mode
Because code and data for modes isn't free. There are so many other modes, why support old modes that people stop playing for new modes. My League lets you do so much. Can't you make a custom league and SIM to playoffs?. Hell, if they didn't have time to give online leagues some attention, I'd expect playoff mode to get zero time.Last edited by Boilerbuzz; 04-17-2015, 09:44 AM.Comment

And its already in the game. Just let us pick the teams outside franchise mode so we can do a realistic one.Comment

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
The likelihood of a simmed franchise leading to a playoff scenario that mirrors real life with real accurate injuries is very low. It's amazing to me that you don't think this is important. It's the NBA. The playoffs are a huge part of NBA basketball.
And its already in the game. Just let us pick the teams outside franchise mode so we can do a realistic one.
I thought you could change the number of teams to just those in the playoffs. I guess not?. Actually, I don't think it's important. Why should that amaze you? And my opinion of the mode doesn't matter. My point is that modes aren't free. The game is friggin massive as is. One of the biggest games on current gen. Where do you shoehorn it in? And why bother when online association needs attention long before this one. I didn't belittle your desire to have the mode. I just answered the question of why it is not there. That's all. Time and resources better spent on modes people play more.Comment

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
It amazes me because it's the playoffs. It's where records are broken. It's the most important part of the NBA season. Every other sports game has some sort of playoffs mode. It should not take a million man hours to code. It's already in the game, it just needs to be separated from MyGM, MyPlayer and MyLeague modes. It's a lot more important than the TV show they do every week.Comment

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
We're talking about the video game. Not the real NBA playoffs. BIG difference there. And considering few cared until now is pretty indicative that maybe it's not that high of a priority. Other sports games have this and that is not a valid argument. You make it sound so easy to do, but you really don't know how much work is really involved in this. And I don't think it needs to be separate from MyLeague. Allow that mode to limit the teams to 16 teams, auto sim to end, and there you go. But it still comes back to the question of how many people actually play the mode - my money is on VERY few. As for the TV Show - I bet quite a few more people watch it than those that play Playoff mode. And I'm 100% certain that the people doing the show are NOT Simballer, or Leftos. Taking away that show doesn't add time to work on a Playoff mode.
Few people cared because it wasn't playoff season. Now it is for the next two months. It's an important feature for a simulation basketball game to have a way to play through an accurate playoff scenario.Comment

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
^I agree. I personally would not play the Playoffs Mode, but it definitely should be in the game. Doesn't seem like it'll take much. Not even one season, just the playoffs.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
Hell, I loved playoff mode on the last gen games, I was shocked myself when it didn't make it to current gen.
I would play it, and play it often. Especially now that I have a newborn son and don't have time for season/my league anymore. A playoff mode that I could just jump into and play through any matchups I want would be fantastic to just pass the time and enjoy the playoff atmosphere in the game.
I usually agree with what you say, Boiler; but this time I gotta respectfully disagree with your statements.Comment

Re: Where is Nba playoffs mode
Playoffs mode is a staple of any sports game, even more, a staple of the NBA 2K series ... not so long ago, games as acclaimed as this, recognized the same mistake that 2K/VC has done and rectified bringing this mode back ... I just hope they do too ... by the way, this was one of the noticeable cons of the game since it was confirmed its removal at launch ... it just so happens that right now, given the start of the playoffs, is even more evident.
Is it easy or difficult ? Dont know but the key lies within taking the right decission, to re include it, as others have ... more editing/customization/options/features is never too much to have or a bad thing ... business wise it even makes more sense as the game caters to different niches offering different alternatives, instead of offering one view to such different markets.Last edited by ffaacc03; 04-19-2015, 10:08 AM.Comment
