Take this for what you will:
The Gospel Herald is reporting that NBA 2K16 will be released on October 27 of this year.
It's interesting to note that Take-Two would push back from the regular release date of early October to be more in line with the NBA's actual season. We're seeing this a lot more now, especially with Madden being the trend setter a couple of years ago.
But the most glaring note, WWE 2K16 releases on October 27 as well. Maybe we will see combo pack of NBA and WWE 2K16 at release. It wouldn't be a bad business move to try and bring both franchise fan bases together by offering two brand new games for $99.
Also, GameStop has NBA 2K16 up on their website, along with a small paragraph detailing the next iteration in the award-winning sports video game:
The NBA 2K franchise is back with the most true-to-life NBA experience to date with NBA 2K16. Guide your MyPLAYER through the complete NBA journey, take control of an entire NBA franchise, or hone your skills online competing against gamers from around the world. With animations that provide smoother movement and more realistic articulation, it's certain to be the most authentic NBA gaming experience yet.
But what piques my interest is the smoother movements and realistic articulations mentioned. NBA 2K15 runs at 60 FPS, so there may be a game-changing technological development coming our way this October.
