The reason why the scoreline looks as it does is not lack of coaching but lack of talent. I would venture to say that the height average alone is roughly 3 to 4 inches less in Europe. Furtheremore there is nearly no post game what so ever, a lack of comparable athelticism. Yes the 3 point line is further in, the basket hangs lower, the lane is wider but still... you just can't compare the talent. Even the best teams in Europe have a maximum of 2-3 players that would make it to the NBA and even those would probably not get more than 5-10 minutes a game if that. The fieldgoal percentage usually is abysmal and because certain defensive rules like illegal offense, illegal defense, no handchecking etc. haven't been implemented, same goes for the 5 seconds back to the basket rule the game is less offense friendly add to that the lack of athleticism and you have the reason for the generally slower pace. If you put some effort in you could easily get the 20 best teams with proper looking faces and maybe even let them play sort of an NBA style league instead of Euroleague or even implement an option for players to add these teams as new NBA franchises, something Stern and Silver have been talking about quite a lot.
