2K has finally decided to motion capture Stephen Curry's shot

I've been waiting for this day for years. 2K16 already looks promising.

(Not sure how I feel about Steph keeping his arm up after every shot, though. He rarely does that in real games.)

Re: 2K has finally decided to motion capture Stephen Curry's shot

It only took breaking his own record for most 3s made in a season, winning the 3pt contest, being voted onto the all star game, being voted onto the All-NBA first team, winning the MVP award, winning an NBA Championship and aiding his team in having one of the top 10 most dominant seasons in NBA history (statistically).

If only he knew. Could've got this done ages ago...

Or maybe it was because he was contractually obligated to take the time to get mocapped...

Do you guys REALLY think these companies don't WANT these athletes to come to in to capture their faces/bodies/movement?

What's sad is that he's a bridge away from the studio. He's as much responsible, if not MORE, for not having likeness right in the game.

You think he gives a flying flapjack about how realistic YOUR video game is? LOL Like that's his responsibility, like he OWES it to the 2K community to spend one of his days outside of the long grueling 82 game season to come in and get Mo-Capped. Lol gamers have gotten spoiled man...

Not to mention his shot is VERY easy to replicate through custom sigs...

Lmao you're blaming him? Wow. Talk about feeling entitled. That's pathetic bro.

It's probably because they finally coughed up the $$$ which they never done before. Or because he's a cover athlete and after being named as one he told them he would do it.

Steph is a humble dude. I can't imagine he turns this sort of thing down just for the sake of it. They probably never asked until now.. why? Nobody cared about Steph despite the fact he's been doing this for the least 4 years. 2k getting on the bandwagon.

Also I think the fans complaining about it got them to listen.

And athletes are busy as hell, maybe they just never managed to arrange it.

Regardless. Blaming the athlete is just moronic and completely pathetic. Get a hold of yourself it's only a game.

To be fair to Curry, Mike said Curry wanted to come in but was pretty busy last summer. Not like he wasn't in Europe winning a gold medal or anything.

And no Boiler, Curry is not "more responsible" for not having his shot properly captured. That's not actually his job, and there's plenty of reference video available that any decent animator could reference and should be able to get very close to, and the deviations were extremely easy to spot (the hitch in his animation for starters). For whatever reason, devoting the needed effort to capturing his release if only by hand just hasn't been as high on 2K's priorities until now. I'm guessing there are many sig shots that are much more authentic that never had the featured player actually mo-capped.

His 2K15 shot while improved was still quite a ways away, and even a simple adjustment for his shot release to Quick instead of Normal would have helped, especially for a player KNOWN for having perhaps the quickest release in the league. It was brought up several times in the roster threads but that change was never implemented in the roster. For whatever reason, Curry certainly wasn't responsible for that.

I don't think Boiler is blaming Curry or being entitled as much as he is absolving 2K for not getting it right, when it's really 100% 2K's responsibility to do as best as they can by whatever means available. And one of the means available was simply going to the roster editor and clicking left once on shot release speed.

This means he won't get blocked when he creates space off the dribble? And his shot won't have a hitch anymore?
