Re: I hope charge "cheese" gets removed

The only thing I hate about the charges is when I get sucked into the animation. Sometimes I'm not even going that direction and I get forced into it. Other than that I really don't fall for it

Um. If you set your coaching strategy to "Space The Floor" and "4 out 1 in" and you have a shooting PF you will have plenty of space. I don't know what you guys are talking about here...

I'm not a guy who turbos down the court every possession, but this type of **** really screws up the flow of the game. You're basically slowly maneuvering yourself all over the court so you don't get caught running over the guy.
That's basketball dude. Half court basketball isn't driving full speed to the basket. Play some half court real life basketball and tell me how often you hit the hypothetical turbo button during a half court set.

If a guy wants to try to draw 100 charges in a game that is a legitimate strategy. It's a strategy that frustrates offensive minded players to no end. Taking charges and flopping is as cheesy and frustrating in real life organized ball as it is in the game.

The point of it is just what you said : To make the offense slow down and neutralize the Russ Westbrooks and Blake Griffins' of the world.

No matter what strategy teams use in real life, if they are attacking in superiority of number, they will find the space to score. In 2k teammates' AI isn't developed enough to do that. So we do know what we are talking about here

I hear what you're saying, but you never see guys in real life trying to draw charges all over the court at the rate my opponent did. I still won and didn't get called for one, but it wasn't an interesting game it all. I'd rather not play someone who games like that.

Yea it really comes down to sim players vs cheesers. Here's the thing though if the charges are tuned too low you reward the turbo cheesers and zig zaggers.

Obviously I'm not saying no tweaks need to be made to the way the game decides how to call the charges. I just understand 2K's implementation of it from a dev stand point.

Wow I was about to ask if you could get a charge called on you w/o holding turbo....

That's awful...

Re: I hope charge "cheese" gets removed

The thing is I've played against teams in the Rec where one guy sets up to take the charge knowing I'll bounce off..and the next guy sets up where he anticipates the animation will send me and the second I move boom it's a charge.

Yea it's not a problem in 1 on 1 games, but there's been times where I get called on one that's not even close..but to be honest with you if you watch a lot of NBA basketball less charges are called in 2K then in real life.
