Improving Alley Oops to Bigs for NBA 2K17

In 2K17 I'd like to see Alley-oops improved. Specifically to bigs like Jordan, Howard, AD, Drummond, Bogut. In NBA 2K16 alley oops passes are thrown lazily and too low, big men barely get off the ground and don't have the awareness to run to the rim. Little point guards can stop bigs in their tracks and defenders who are out of position can stop lobs.
The Clippers don't feel like the Clippers in 2K16. In real life Deandre Jordan can catch the ball 2-4 feet above the rim and dunk it at anytime if a defender isn't completely blocking him. The game as it is underrates the length and leaping ability of bigs in the NBA. I think 2K should add a feature that allows us to choose what type of finish we want with the right stick (Left hand, right hand, two hand, flashy) but with alley oops. Contact alley-oop dunks should be implemented with the new alley oop system

This lob should have been thrown higher and with the right hand instead of the left.

The roll man turns around after setting a screen. I've noticed this a lot. A big man will have an open lane and he will turn and do a half spin and allow the defender to recover. In this case the defender is still not in position to stop the lob and Dwight should have dunked from the side of the rim. Random flashy alley-oops need to go or be limited.

This should be completed 9 times out 10. This happens very often

Hibbert may not be the most bouncy but he can catch and finish these. Even a layup would be fine.

I see this a lot too. There is no need for CP3 to throw the pass to the left and for Griffin to warp to the rim. If his defender is on the high side then just throw it up and let him get it.

Jordan should have rolled straight to the rim after setting the screen. Same thing as the last clip. The pass should have been made with the right hand and thrown up high

Another pass with the wrong hand. This time underhanded. With CP3's passing IQ there is no way he should be throwing passes like this. It should have been thrown above the rim.

Best example of the roll man turning his head and not rolling to the rim. CP3 once again throws the pass with the wrong hand.

They need to find a good balance for Oops as well. This year started off OK (as disruption was easier), Then there was a small period of oops feeling unstoppable, now my SG with damn near maxed dunking, posterizer and Lob City finisher seems like he bricks 2 of 7 oops. If a defender even looks at me I blow the lob. I still catch and finish open ones, but lobs that make sense I can't.

Had one the other day placed right in front of the rim after he drew both guys out, cone tearing through the open lane, no contest, 1 handed....bounces out of bounds of the brick.

Maybe enhancing defensive settings would help balance it. Defenders would have to adjust like in real life or else this could happen....

But with alley oops missing, I've noticed that you just have to be in the area and spam X and the dunk will miss 9 times out of 10.

And that's the thing. I'm fine missing If I'm trying a triple back flip east bay funk dunk in traffic, but a basic 2 hander with one guy standing 5 feet away shouldn't miss every time. Especially with the badge.

Re: Improving Alley Oops to Bigs for NBA 2K17

If we want to talk about more realistic alley oops first thing that needs to be implemented is physics (body, ball) ASAP

In reality that means:
* when player passes ball and it was bad pass for alley oop, ball shouldn't miraculeously end up in ooper's hands just because passer got high pass rating.

* if player tries alley oop in paint where stands 1 or 2 defensive players, game should take notice of WHICH players cover paint and is there any collision or not.

Re: Improving Alley Oops to Bigs for NBA 2K17

Oops were OP last year, but this year are so tuned down, I almost NEVER perform them. It is very common for a guy like DeAndre to get an alley oop pass from Paul and dunk it after a succesful pick n rol but this is NOT the case in 2k.

This, and the unrealistic amount of blocks AND chasedown blocks are the more unrealistic features of 2k.

I have had games which my opponent had 10 blocks in halftime just by having a Muresan or a Gobert standing in their paint. Surely they can block, but their lateral quickness is highly unrealistic.

Re: Improving Alley Oops to Bigs for NBA 2K17

Alley oops in 2k15 worst in history of gaming. I remember one game we played @ my apartment, my friend who is bigtime cheeser (but great friend IRL) recorded 26 alley oops in single game with OKC, i counted each one of them, do i need to say i stopped playing 2k15 after that game lol. It doesn't felt like sim more like NBA jam without huge jumps and big headed players.
