    MyCareer GameDay Dynamic Development

I have to be honest, the current player development system sucks. Players have the ability to develop skills as a package. Makes no sense!!! Because I'm fast doesn't mean I have leaping ability. Because I can shoot inside doesn't automatically mean I can shoot mid range and from 3. You should get my drift... The fact that you can gain all your points (VC) anduse it in areas where you havent even performed well in, is beyond me. Like scoring all your points on 3pts but using the vc to boost your dunking. And do get me started on th buying of VC for player upgrade smh...

Players generally improve through training, drills and we once had a system in place where players used drills to improve. players also improve game to game. 2K should add this back and into the game to make it more authentic.
    • Training should be the basis of player development
If one performs poorly, their ratings in particular areas should reflect this.
Example if you have a poor turnover ratio, your passing/ball handling and awareness should take a dip.
If you have a low rebounding ratings, but you snag an above average amount of rebounds. Your rating in that area should raise
All in game progression and regression should be slight, as well as training development. Because no player improves drastically in one day.

I feel as if players ratings should go up and down after each game, or after a batch of games. Real life players go through slumps and also get hot. 2K MyCareer ratings should reflect this system some day....

I hope it makes sense, tried my best to explain lol.

I agree totally. If I want to make my Center better at free throws why do I have to become a better 3 point shooter? Makes zero sense

I agree completely, i like where you're going with this idea too, we cant make the player we truly want in 2k15 and progression is not natural enough. Playing actual games should have an impact on how we upgrade are players Im hopeful 2k atleast removed such an awkward upgrade system from 15.

I just want the old system back for now. I love your ideas, but for now having the 2K10-14 system is where they need to go back to.

It made people be careful how the upgraded, and what they upgraded.
They also need to bring back Playstyles.

I loved the feeling of out the gate being an athletic point, and going from there.
This would also create specialist in the game which wasn't present on 2k15 cause they allowed you to be whatever.

I think the online aspect would be tons better with this.

why cant shooting and making 3s increase your 3s, hook shot increases hook, etc the more you use the higher it goes... the less you use it the lower it goes...

There are plenty of people who can shoot Mid Range shots, and not 3 pointers.

You nailed it. Would definitely make for a better online experience with better matchups. Like a Pass first PG vs a Athletic PG and a Scoring SG vs a Defensive SG, instead of 7'0 SF's vs a 6'4 PG lol

I'd prefer how they do it in The Show where you have to continuously do drills and raise your attributes. You can start a season as a 99 and you can end the season as a 99 or 85 depending on whether or not you're keeping up with training your attributes during the season.

I'd also like it if they had a two separate OVRs, current and potential; your potential OVR is how your attributes add up but you're current is how you're currently playing. You're potential OVR affects your base role and minutes any increase/decrease in the current OVR affects whether your role or minutes get decreased. With your current OVR+potential OVR/2 determining whether or not you take over another role and if there is a tie in the final number between you and another player you split time in that role.

Say if your potential OVR 74 and you get 13 minutes off the bench as the 8th man in the rotation, but you're playing like an 82; the 7th man is potentially 75 OVR(74 current) playing 20 minutes and the 6th man is potentially 77 OVR(79 current) playing 26 minutes. The 7th man drops to 8th and you move up to 7th while you and the 6th man alternate between those roles for X amount of games.

                      Re: MyCareer GameDay Dynamic Development

I would love to see them implement proper, daily, full team practices...

-It could be broken down into say...10 minutes of drills (skill attributes)/5 minutes of going over plays (IQ attributes)/a quick team scrimmage to end it (every attribute)/option to leave early or stay (physical attributes)

-The drills and parts of practice that relate to the attributes that you have no interest in upgrading can be skipped

-Each practice would have a different feel from team-to-team and coach-to-coach

-Every coach is different, if you're a pass first point guard going to the Bucks and getting coached/mentored by J.Kidd will have it's benefits, while going to a veteran coach like G.Pop instead of say a rookie coach will also have it's benefits

-Some coaches will be more strict than other...doing a drill wrong or performing badly in practice may affect your playing time as well as rating if the coach is a hard ***...this will impact decisions of what team you'd like to play for because maybe your current coach can't get you to that next level.

-As you become more of a vet/complete player you have the option of sitting out of these team practices but sitting out too many will cause your ratings to dip but as you get older participating in too many practices may cause injuries, its a balancing act

-This is how VC to upgrade could be earned , not during game and the drills you excel at would be the attributes you can upgrade, but the attributes that relate to the drills you are bad at stay capped.

                        Re: MyCareer GameDay Dynamic Development

I would definitely hate daily practice. Weekly would also get old and extremely boring. Just like the practices in mycareer where you scrimmage. It's honestly just a boring waste of time.

The way it could be done is having practice or training optional. Like have it so you can spend VC (it's not going anywhere sadly. It probably brings in upwards of 30-40% of profit for them. Probably more honestly) but if you sim it costs more VC but you increase 1 point or just stay the same. Versus actually training yourself where you can gain points without VC and you get a bigger increase the better you do. But doing bad doesn't mean you lose points you just don't gain any. Gives everybody an option but TBH training should be an off season thing and practice shouldn't really increase your rating permanently maybe just the next game/week. Training should increase your rating but it needs to be done in a way where it gives simulation an option. And if you chose not to train things like conditioning, weigh, stamina and overall should suffer. (If it's off-season only)

                          Re: MyCareer GameDay Dynamic Development

I agree with a lot of the things you guys have said:
                          - no more large buckets to train in, break out the attributes individually

                          - need to somehow separate VC from training points, like MLB The Show does with Stubs and training points. (again, this could potentially mean fewer VC sales, so I'm guessing they won't do this)

                          - Have a way to practice free throws during a shoot around session. That way you aren't learning your player's free throw release in games.

                          - I really liked the idea of having different types of players receiving bonuses in different teams/schemes/coaching staffs. IE: guards receiving training bonuses to passing and ball handling playing for Jason Kidd, PF/C receiving post defense bonuses playing for Chicago, or Guards/SF receiving outside shooting bonuses playing for Steve Kerr.

                          - To follow up on this: come free agency time, receiving bonuses/penalties depending on what team you sign with. If I have a shoot-first PG, but choose to sign with the Spurs & Greg Popovich, have it affect my ratings negatively since I would be a bad fit for that team's play style and scheme. Say my base overall rating is an 80, but it takes a hit to a 78 by signing with the Spurs, whereas maybe I get a boost to some attributes and be rated 82 if I signed with a team in need of a scoring PG to fit their offensive scheme. Kind of makes a player's rating relate to the way they work within the team system.

You hit the nail on the head my friend! We have regressed so much in regards to player development its to the point where I feel 2K has done this purposely to garner more VC sales versus replicating real life player progression. All of the drills, scrimmage games, and practices that were once available to us could alleviate the VC upgrades regarding skill. 2K could easily use VC for reward points towards gear, and cosmetic upgrades and have us EARN skill upgrades and have the balance aspect taken care of. I have always loved the grind of turning my player into a star and I feel it adds to the immersion and gives you incentive to play multiple seasons.
