Buy on day 1 or wait for patch 1 to fix everything

Seeing how sports video games have gone in recent years it's becoming commonplace for Franchise mode lovers to be stuck in the purgatorious "wait until the patch comes out to fix everything that's making the mode unplayable" zone. (cough Madden 16)

Seeing as there is a month until the game comes out I'm wondering if it would be too much to ask that the game released in September is at least playable from a MyGM/MyLeague p.o.v. Or maybe just submit the patch to microsoft and sony now?

(I'm halfway playing around as I know the rigors of coding and hexing).

Patch 1 is on day 1

2K has had release day patches for the last few years to fix the egregious stuff

I almost never buy on Day 1, for anything. Sports games in particular. As much as we love them on this board, are broken for weeks after release.

This and MLB The Show are the only sports games I buy on day 1.

Why? Because 2K and Sony San Diego have earned my trust.

EA has lost my trust with their NHL and Madden games, thus I don't buy them until things are patched, if at all--heck, Madden 16 already has a crippling Connected Franchise bug, and they actually told people not to start that mode until it's patched!

But, while 2K is not perfect, I trust them enough to make a very good basketball video game. And their hiring of OSers in the last 12 months has only increased my trust.

Will there be problems on day one? Almost certainly. But I trust 2K and the Visual Concepts team enough to have faith that the positive will greatly outweigh the negative.

For me it's always been a day 1, because I love the game of basketball so much I know I'm gonna buy it. And with nothing but baseball on TV I'm usually dying of boredom so even tho I know it won't play perfect right out of the box I know it'll get me the hoops fix I need after summer league ends.
