Do you mean from backdoor cuts? If so, don't use smother or deny in the individual defensive settings. Conservative defense as POE should help as well.

I have a basic question:

Why does a "x icon" appear (seemingly randomly) over players heads?

I use Play Art on Full and Icon Passing...

Been playing the series on and off for a decade, never saw this before this year...
