Hard Copy Preorder including Digital Download

So I preordered my 2k thru Gamestop.... got home last night popped it in my xb1 waited for the install , Typed in the Tip Off Weekend Code that came inside the Disc... and it Re downloaded the game, Now the game works without the disc... Is this a glitch? Did preordering the Hard Copy Include a digital copy? has anyone else Tried this?

somebody try running their game without the disc to see if i'm not the only one

Pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. That's why it installs the game when you put the disc in so that you don't need the disc anymore once it's installed.

That's definitely not how it works on PS4 and I can't imagine it working like that on X1. Then you could just install the game and resell it or just give it to a friend.

But I don't have an X1 so maybe they don't care about selling more than 1 copy of a game and it really does work like that.

That was the original plan for the XB1, thats not how it works now.

@op perhaps it glitched and the code unlocked the digital version of the game for you. However I would hold onto that hard copy as it may not stay that way.

That's what im going to do...i was just wondering if anyone else has tried to play without the disc....what happened was as i was installing the game i entered the pre-order bonus code from the card that comes inside....after that it restarted the install...after completion i took the disc out to play madden...while the update was downloading...played madden amd ran the game without the disc not realizing it wasnt i. There....once i realized it i kept exiting amd restarting to be sure...still currently playing without. A disc in

I was wrong.. Mine doesn't let me play without the disc in
