Re: about story line in my career
I'm in the middle of my rookie season, so I can't comment on the story line after it (but what I read is that it ends after season 1), but what I can tell you is that so far I had ZERO influence on the way the story plays out.
Only thing you can influence is where to go to highschool and college, and with performances where you'll be drafted (not exactly where, but better you play, higher you're picked). -
Re: about story line in my career
I don't like the story so far. Mycareer is supposed to be about us, not about this frequency vibrations character that i have almost nothing in common with.
With that said,
SpoilerI love the team owner, his lines are great and the voice actor should be nominated for an oscar. I've only seen the vic's gotta go cutscene though, maybe the rest isn't as good but that scene was close to perfection. Btw i can't wait to get rid of vic, the story tries tell you it should be some kind of moral dilemma but it really isn't, imo of course.Comment

Re: about story line in my career
The story is utterly disappointing and a downright laughable joke to be honest. I have absolutely NO choices at all. None. I feel like I'm just watching a bunch of cutscenes and then having other people pick my choices for me.
What a joke.Comment

Re: about story line in my career
I really hope 2K just opens things up more for players to have their own paths and experiences in MyPlayer from now on. From what I'm hearing the story isn't anything special and if that's the case then being forced down a single path really isn't desirable at all. The whole story thing has always been a bad idea imo.Comment

Re: about story line in my career
I just played my first game in the NBA and had 8 points and was playing decent at the half, we were up 8, and then the 2nd half just sims all through and I get no run and somehow my team that scored 53 in the first half scored 32 in the 2nd lol weird.Comment

Re: about story line in my career
I don't know about you all but I personally liked the story.. Sure it was lacking in choices, but it's more like a movie. It's a nice change rather than the last 2 years which have been in even more disappointing. IMO.
Some people are mad, and I'm looking at it like this is the first time we actually got something like this in this scale imagine down the next few installments..Comment

Re: about story line in my career
This story mode was a waste of money, I bet Spike Lee is laughing all the way to the bank. No choices other than picking what college and that really doesn't matter either. And the worst part is that the cutscenes actually make you're going to believe you get to decide something.
SPOILER...
Why can't we decide ...
if we are going to stay in college or leave to go pro?
if we only want to keep CeeCee or Yvette around?
if we want to drop Vic the first time the owner tells us?
who we want as our agent?
the ability to kill Vic when he makes that threat in the car, lol.
How the hell am I getting a Jordan deal when I was the 25th pick in the draft and only average 3 pts a game?
Hell, I am black, but I think its stupid that all myPlayers are from the projects in Harlem in a black family....what about white or hispanic myplayers? Why not be able to pick a story background, like a kid from a small town in the Midwest, like Larry Bird or something, or international player playing in the Euroleague.
I liked last year's and the previous year's version better, I liked the rivalry with Jackson Ellis, and having to earn a shoe deal.Comment
