Broke em down nice vid man. Do we have to let the whole size up animation play before trying to burst out of it? And after the defender starts moving left you just use the LS to the right and towards the basket?

Re: 2k16 dribbling

I used to have a video on my YouTube that clearly shows the issues with 1 on 1 interaction, and specifically the CPU reacting to my stick inputs.....
it was me doing moves and watching as the CPU would literally move in the direction I pressed before even my own animation going in that direction would kick in

So the rest of you guys talking about try this try that, sorry to break it to you fellas and yes these things make sense in the real world, but in this "GAME" it's just animations and there are no real world physics involved in it whatsoever. Only thing you can do is figure out a pattern of animations and abuse that.

2K would have to build a brand new engine that incorporates actual physics instead of the engine they use now which works strictly via animations.
This is very complicated in both skill, time and money involved and for these reasons we will be lucky if we get something like this in 2K or Live 2020 on the next generation consoles maybe.

I've always wanted a CPU defensive reaction time slider. (I don't have the game so I can't comment on how it is in 2K16)

Re: 2k16 dribbling

^ Adding more sliders could help yes, more control for the user always helps....

But you don't need to have the game to know they're still using the same engine now so are stuck with the same problems as always.
So for those of us that want to emulate real life where each player literally feels like they do in real life.... maybe in another 10 years on the next next console cycle, Playstation 6 or 7 Xbox 3 or 4

Re: 2k16 dribbling

I am playing around in Blacktop (1v1). Seems like a great place to practice beating defenders, but I am having a heck of a time beating anyone off the dribble.

I just cannot seem to get my guy (curry) to explode out of a dribble move and go to the basket. I look forward to the invevitable youtube videos showing how to do it this year.

Right now, it is an epic struggle.

Czar, i understand a challenge. But that's not what this appears to be. I hate to be the one complaining about being able to play defense as I'm loving most of the contact layups, but i mean it's damn near impossible to get past ANYONE. This isn't me crying cuz i can't blow past Tony Allen. I had mo Williams and Jose calderon d'ing me up. That ain't right...
Again, you haven't even had the game for 48 hours Bo. Just give it time man. Give yourself time to figure the game out. Simple as that

This would be more believable if there literally wasn't a video right above your post showing the CPU guessing wrong..

Not that I don't get what you're saying though regarding how it can improve in the future
