I miss easy layups. I'm missing easy dunks. I'm missing putback layins. I'm missing driving layups.
How do you finish layups?
use players who are good at them is may suggestion
dunks on the other hand, I've had my fair share of open dunks go flying out of the rim already....pretty annoying
haven't had any issue with lay ups or put backs though....there really isn't a trick for it
just don't go up for a putback with any scrub...if he's a good inside player either go straight back up, or pump fake and try to draw the defender up in the air for the foul
What mode are you playing?
What difficulty are you on?
Are you taking shots while you're surrounded?
Hall of Fame, Sim sliders.
I play with the Nets and can't finish any layups with Joe Johnson after getting a step on my man. I like missing layups I would just like to know how to hit contested layups and finishing in moderate traffic. I also can't make put back layups with Brook Lopez
I also played with the Hawks to see if the issue was my bum Nets. I had trouble finishing with Millsap, Horford, and Teague as well.
Hold the shot stick the opposite way of the defender...
I.e if a defender is on your left finish by holding the stick to the right...
I've gotta say, EVERYTHING about driving inside feels great, EXCEPT when you miss a dunk. In no way am i saying i want to posterize everyone. But i thought it was my 57 dunk rating until my buddies with high 80s missed as well. A dunk is like a 99.9% shot. I've seen missed dunks, but there really isn't a higher percentage shot in the game. I'm cool with going inside, missing a layup, getting my board, and missing again. Even tho that's like an 80% with like a 95% chance to draw a foul. I'M STILL GOOD WITH THAT! I just can't stand watching the ball rim out when it should be a goal tend or a block at least.
No offense but why are you playing on HOF already ?You don't think you should learn the game first before jumping to that level?
Because I've been playing basketball video games since 1995 and I always start on the hardest mode. I take my lumps for a few weeks and I'm better for it. Then I don't develop and bad cheesy habits that only work on the lesser modes (like easy finishes).

Yea that's what I'm trying to figure out. I would prefer to not dunk if it's going to be a lower percentage shot than a layup.
The shot adjust trigger used to work every time last year. This year not at all. 2k likes to overcompensate a lot year to year. I haven't had a lot of problems with layups, not that I try a lot contested, but dunks get swatted or missed every other time.. Nothing irks me more than having a near wide open fast break only for your player to do a slowish gather back scratcher dunk that gets swatted by a guy who was 20 feet behind you

I would actually think HOF would actually encourage bad cheesy habits because the overpowered 2K CPU cheese would encourage you to cheese right back. HOF up to 2K15 is not real basketball.
