IDK if it's possible to be a face up big because even at 6'10 I feel slow.
I feel you, most i've gotten is 17. Avg about 11ppg, which is good off the bench i guess.

I'm so stuck on playing as a Small Forward. I guess it's because I like being versatile where I can guard the perimeter and the inside. I definitely have to play as a PF or Center because playing in the paint feels way better this year. You can actually back down smaller defenders. It was funny seeing my 6'8 player abuse those High School Kids in MyCareer. Lol

I'm a 79 OVR iirc and I'm absolutely dominating averaging 20+ points and 20 boards with 4.5 blks on Superstar/sim I'm 6'11 inside center.

I'm an elite paint protector and absolutely suck outside of 3-4ft on offense. I would have liked to hit the J out to 16 feet but oh well. I'll build up my post offense by the end of this season.

Well it seems the Whole 7'3" dribbling like Kyrie Irving is gone, i'm sure their will be plenty less bigmen out there. Being a PF, or C is the toughest position by far, just because there is less of them, and more moves to get to know.

When creating ANY player, it's always good to have a basic mold off an NBA player, not exactly the same, but the same type of player. I myself have molded my 6'10" to be a monster like Anthony Davis, who kicked my *** the first time I played him.

So, my PF is a 79 Overall, Interior Defender (Kinda like Serge Ibaka you could say) and it's VERY hard scoring. I usually score in between 8-16 points a game, on the Nets. Most games, at least half of my points come from the foul line just because I can't get inside, and post moves are very limited to my player, and because my guy can draw contact well.

So, first mistake I made was picking inside scorer, I thought Inside was everything inside the 3pt line, and I was wrong. My Mid-Range jumper has a cap of 66 now... and for this fact, I might need to recreate a player with the balanced scoring option. I recommend for PF you pick Balanced, and for Center, pick Inside.

Rebounds, a LOT harder to come by now, and you HAVE to box out, or be boxed out. Double-Doubles are hard to come by, I've gotten one so far, in my second season of play.

Blocks, a lot more sensible when they happen, more rewarding as well. But don't be surprised when someone like Anthony Davis blocks your ball back into the crowd, it happens. A lot actually, but everytime I've been blocked, it was a bad shot on my part.

The first thing you'll notice is how long your guy is, I maxed out the wingspan (not sure if that effects speed) but I definitely recommend the extra wingspan, when you get beat off the dribble you have a good chance at a nice swat.

The second thing you'll notice is the speed. Or how much speed there isn't. My 3 main categories I've upgraded have been: Athleticism, Jump Shooting, Inside Scoring. And my guy is still noticeably slower than my 7'3" Center in 2K15. But this is for the better, trust me.

So all in all, being a Bigman is a High Risk-High Reward type thing. If you get to be very skilled at playing it, then Pro-am teams are gonna be recruiting you until you die. But unfortunately, you give up a lot of the fun on MyPark, as it's hard for guards to play bigs all the time, and it's not as fun as a guard when playing MyPark, so I recommend getting a guard player for that.

Rebounding is great and offensive rebounds are such a boost for your team that when you can slip into the paint, box out your man and grab that OREB then **** that joint back and bang it on 'em it's a great feeling.

As far as an inside focused center, it's great if you're a dirty work/post guy. I can actually play bully ball when I catch it in the paint on a mismatch or even against a weak post defender and hit them with a spin/pumpfake/dropstep and slam it on their heads.

I'd imagine a balanced/outside PF or C would be money fading off the pick when the defender has to respect the drive and your pg/sg can draw your guy. I get a ton of open looks after setting a pick for Tony Parker but I usually have to pass it off or rim run for a drop off/OREB because I can't hit the jumper.
You guys all seem inside, can you tell me how heavy your big men are?

Re: The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer

Hey guys,

This thread is getting me excited to pick up 2K16 and get started on my annual big man. Previously I've always gone with a 6'11 250-260lb big man, and my aim is to basically be Ben Wallace.

I could score 2-4 PPG but as long as i'm grabbing every rebound and blocking shots all day long I am a happy man.

So what this thread is telling me that this is very possible and will be lots of fun.

My question is, I've never done a C over 7 feet tall. Mainly because I want good speed and athleticism and find that the 6'10 or 6'11 size gives me that. However, what's the pro's and con's of a 7'1 or 7'2 C versus the 6'10-6'11 size?

Re: The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer

Day 1 I made a 6'11'' balance PF and luckily It's the best one. This game actually makes you play your position which is cool. I really like playing the position. Im molding my PF to be a athletic rim protector. My PF title though is rebounding specialist. The only thing that bothers me is getting stripped when I drive. I maxed out my play maker on my first PF but when I seen it doesn't make much of a difference I remade him..same 6'11 PF but this time I left my play maker on 0. Another struggle for me is when people see me post up I get double teamed but all in all I really enjoy playing big man. I agree w the op, when you understand how to play and get blocks people do take notice. I've gotten a lot of friend request because they see me working on defense lol.

Re: The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer

I do have some issues with playvision in myCareer.

I am playing on PC , All-Star/Sim, 12 Minutes quarters as a Center.
Playvision is set on show all plays, and full and everything on auto.

When I move to my position (the blue dots) most of the times, nothing happens. No player movement, no passing, no instruction for me to pick, run or anything.
When moving to a teammate and setting a pick (without instruction) the set play resets and a new starting position is displayed.
Very rarely it is working as intended.
Freelance offence is not working as intended neither.

Because I find very few complaints about this issue, I posted this in the big man thread to find out if it might be problem with the position C.

Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue?

In MyCareer, I don't really see enough effectiveness of a 7+ tall center over 6'10 or 6'11. That hit on speed is real and if you want to rebound with the best of them, you need to be able to move quickly. I love to dominate the glass, and usually, unless I'm boxed out far from the basket, no one grabs that board, but me.

However, in 2K Pro-Am, being 7'1-7'2 matters, especially if your rebounding is maxed. I'm 6'11 max athlete with about 80 rating in rebound, and I can get get my 6-7 DREBS and 3-4 OREBS a game, but that means I need to have great position and always box out. That 7+ C would grab a couple over me just due to redone rim physics and long rebounds.

If your focus is scoring, being tall helps lol. I pride myself on defense and held my guy to 2-7 from the field, but he made me work every time. And I have maxed defense and Post-Lock Down defender.
