Shot Fake in the paint?

I haven't figured this out entirely, but I THINK letting go of the left stick helps. Also not being too fast helps. It's most likely a question of how fast the player is moving. Sometimes I can pump fake from a euro step which is nice if it works, but really hard to pull off.
