Triple Threat help

Anyone have any tips for getting a man to back off you in the triple threat? When I push forward it does a little jab and holds the ball with one hand but doesn't really seem to get the defender to move back. I'm on Superstar Sim. I've been using Aldridge around the free throw line and it seems the only way to get him his "bread and butter" jump shot around the free throw line is to put him in a pick and roll, but in real life he will pull it out of the triple threat after some jabs.

I've beaten players off with a triple threat move this year. At least 3 times, twice with my PF. You gotta get lucky with beating them off of it
