Normal release, quick release

So I am running with the Warriors, and occasionally Steph Curry will resort to a quick shot release, TOTALLY throwing off my timing. My shot release will be so late that it is in the red, and I throw up a brick and even sometimes airball. With this in mind, I'm worried he will do this in his next jump shot, so I take this into account and time my release quicker. Except...this time around, Curry fires a shot at normal speed, of course leading to a brick. W-T-F

Is there a way to tell which release a player is going to go up with? If not can the variable releases be disabled? I need help
