I think if it is on auto, the AI will adjust your POE/gameplan based on game situation and lineups. If it is on manual, no adjustments will be made, it is up to you to manually adjust.

If my poe is already on manual what does auto coaching do ?

Will it over ride my manual poe ?

it seems unnecessary given all the other defensive settings.

Auto coaching would adjust defensive match ups, P&R defense etc.

It does not override your manual POE at all. Defensive settings, jury still out BUT I've checked throughout the game and never seen any adjustments regarding Hedge, screen settings ect so I'm leaning towards no until a dev says otherwise.

Offensive Coach settings set to 'Auto' means it will automatically run a smart play before the half court line on each inbound. In other words, it will run a a random play from your playbook based on the offensive POE (ie Play through Anthony Davis so it runs a play for Anthony Davis). It will also automatically change the play once there is activity post half court line. When the setting is off, freestyle plays are initiated (mostly having wing shooters try to get open and bigs post up and sometimes cut).

Defensive Coach settings set to 'Auto' will occasionally change the defense according to the CPU's points and defensive POE (ie Limit Points in the paint will change the defense to a zone). Another example is half-court sets. Setting it to manual will just keep it on man to man.

it's so dumb dude, idk why they even put that in. if we turned stuff off that we didnt want on why would the give the option of ai adjustments

manual means AI wont adjust a thing and you need to it yourself.

on auto it will decide alot of things depending on who is the coach if i understood it correctly.

it will decide who matches up with who and who to double.
it will also make decisions based on how the game goes.

something like that lol
