Re: Are Hook Shots Useless?

Do hook shots have timing this year? I remember last year they didn't you just moved the shot stick and initiated the hook.

It's you. Check your player ratings, because I own with this. Using Brook Lopez or Karl Malone, hook shot is my go-to move.

Oh, and doing a little shake before shooting helps.
Here is the problem.... Some people think they should be able to turn around and shoot a hook. But if you do a few moves before the shot. It's much easier

Re: Are Hook Shots Useless?

I'm good with the bigs moves but post hooks seem to be off for me too. I think the timing is just not what you'd think.

Many times I'd have a small switched onto Zbo and back him all the way down and try to hook it and go off back rim.

We are probably doing something wrong.

I had similar problems with KAJ so it's gotta be some trick to get them to fall.

It has to be... Because anytime I get a switch like that you just said. It's "BBQ CHICKEN".... I might have missed one hook (I think because there was help that came over.)

Hook shots are my go to moves. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently, but they are very effective for Towns and Shabazz.

Re: Are Hook Shots Useless?

I haven't had a problem on RealPlayer%, in fact I'm surprised at how often Robin Lopez and Seraphin make them in my Knicks ML on default sim AS. I accidentally shoot one with Melo sometimes and they never, ever go in for him lol.

I always shoot my hook after a few dribbles in the post and usually a fake of some sort unless I really have a good angle off the bat. Always turn over your shoulder away from the defender, that's probably the biggest key. If I botch the LS and shoot a hook that's going towards the defender then it's usually blocked or missed. Can't argue with that result given the situation.
