You say you want imput, so hopefully you dont take this the wrong way, but among something you couldnt help, i saw a lot of bad defense overall in those clips.

1st clip- you left conely on a island with no help in sight, 2k's help defense has been talked about ad nauseam, so you should have loaded up with a big on the block. But at this point you didnt really know your opponent.

2nd- playing far too close, and yea, on an island.

3rd - the help comes, a lil late for my liking, but it come from the baseline, and shuts him down. I would have recommended you keep gasol there when Howard cleared out. good defense tho.

4th- in 2k16 dbl teams are too passive and yea, you got screwed.

5th- on an island...no backside help

6th- the first defender was insta-cooked, second defender was squared and the hopstep into him should have been a charge in a perfect world. But in 2k the animation turns you.

7th- another 2k issue where minimum momentum allows animations that take you all the way to the rim. That drive should have stopped once he ran into the guys posting.

8th- too close,he blows by you, and gets to the rim. no bail out.

9th- that defender should never be on Harden, especially with the game hes having, if a switch happened in transition, there should be a double. But yea this was a bail out call.

10th- you should have doubled with conley while in that zone with Gasol on the block, but even then you had good positioning on the drive and yea.....you got screwed again.

11th- not sure why you would extend you 2-3 that high on the pg, but then your switching gave him a free run at gasol who got a foul for basically being in the way.

Id also recommend you use the right stick once he's committed to a direction. and if you dont know what i mean by bringing a defender over.

The more I watch the clips the more I see what your talking about. Thank You. The red's ones you highlights. I do agree there was some room to blame on me. It's the one in green that I'm surprise I didn't quit.

Because now I'm trying to adjust to the adjustment they made to the game. When I lost before the tweaks. I felt like I was out played. Now when I lose. I feel like someone just did the same thing over and over. And even with my adjustments. I couldn't control what was happening.

But I guess noticing that Harden played the WHOLE GAME. Really pissed me off this morning.

thats cool man, we all have to adapt. but i know the frustration. I have even made a post about how my strategy didnt feel like it was rewarded enough, but we just have to play the odds. *shrugs*

I noticed twice in this same game. That I football tossed it to my center for a cheap basket. Not like me when I'm playing with the Grizzles.

            Re: My iso nightmare

What I like to do is set off-ball defense to gap on some players and force the ball handler into the middle. Some people might consider forcing middle a big no-no in real life but in 2k it can be an effective strategy. I got the idea watching University of Virginia and how they sag off players, force them into the middle and into the teeth of the defense. Also, players that look to iso the whole time won't look to pass.

I still think baseline layup animations are too OP. Players still warp to the basket and defenders don't rotate fast enough. Forcing baseline guides the ballhandler away from the defense while forcing middle guides the player into your shot blockers. Also, the threat of going out of bounds (the reason you force baseline in the first place) isn't concerning enough in 2k to deter people.

You can see how bad it is in Harden's buzzer beater OP posted. Ariza is posted up on Allen in the post. When Harden goes into the layup animation, they slide out of the way. You'll also see defenders fall inexplicably (the Gasol flop video), giving the player an open uncontested shot.

Personally, I think stamina should play a bigger role in this as well. A player shouldn't be able to take so many shots with defenders riding them the whole time without some penalty.

I know exactly your frustration. For some reason the bumping animation doesn't come up as often anymore and the layups are just outrageous right now. People who create their player outside shouldn't be able to come inside hardly ever but my bigs i run with can't even stop them right now on the park. It's really turning me off this game right now.

I have noticed that online play now has seemed to cater to the casual cheese player in the last couple of weeks. When the game first came out I was really enjoying that mode because good basketball strategy would usually result in wins. What did they change to cause this?

I think until help/team defense is addressed in a patch, this will just be an option as an offensive strategy to some extent. As mentioned earlier shading and the conservative defensive poe could help you out somewhat. Hopefully enough so that the next time you see stuff like that they feel as cheated as you do when you beat them!

Yea it's some thing I'm really going to use tonight. Because I usually play physical defense. So hopefully this will help. I usually start the game on Auto. And then see what my opponent does. And then make adjustments.

Defense is a joke in this game, especially lateral d lol. The right stick seems to be a good way of getting blown by. Contact animations are non existent unless the cpu is guarding. I've played many people like him. When I first picked the game up I was raving about how sim it was but the honeymoon is over. I'll wait till the patch to give it another whirl. Back to MGSV till then.

Honestly, it's just hard to defend one on one with even the tiniest amount of input lag. By the time you're where you need to be, they're already moving somewhere else.

Certain players on this game, Curry and Harden and etc, you can't actually got the double animation all the time, they dribble out of it.

                          Anyway....

Man you messed up. I cheese people like that right back.

                          Rockets don't have shooters anyway.

What you do is, run 3-2 zone, put it on forced direction on middle, double on drive and trap him everything he gets the ball. And defense helps on Auto and neutral aggression.

You have Tony Allen and Mike Conley, I would just trap with them everything time and I would trap every single ballhandler, when he is coming up the court. I would switch between 32, 23 and full court trap.

When players start getting on my nerves, that's the type of stuff I do.

My biggest issue is damn James Harden shouldn't be dunking like that. First and foremost.

2nd, I would have put someone with length on him, gave him space and doubled that dude the whole game.

Do you feel less SIM if you double one player the whole game? Honest question.
                            Concrete evidence/videos please

Not sure how effective it is this year, but a real nice aggressive defense I liked to use in '15 was the half court trap. I used it sparingly to keep my opponent from only using one player.

I've become the same way. At that point there's no honor or decorum to be kept. I switch from trying to have fun playing basketball to having fun playing a game and beating them at what they do.

Hopefully after the next batch of patches we really will be able to solve these types of issues with "basketball solutions".
