Re: House Rules for MyGM/Leauge

Honestly, for me it's already pretty challenging without any house rules. I'm 4 years in with the 76ers and have had a lottery pick each year. I've never struggled this long with a team in any previous 2K. I like the challenge

This is just me, but I dont change my top 10 players. I like it realistic. Ive got a Mavs ML and only added Amare and Jason Terry. Havent touched my Cavs roster.

Re: House Rules for MyGM/Leauge

I like to build through the draft, not through free agency.

I don't sign big FAs and trade them asap for picks or a player I want.

In free agency I usually go for the Undrafted rookies and second rounders. But that's just me. Building through free agency is a legit strategy.

I only ever edit a player's jumpshot base (not stroke) if I have an assistant coach like Ray Allen or Steve Kerr.

I put trade approval on. I really only ever veto a trade if it's during the draft and makes no sense.

I'm in year 2026 in my league and the Sixers are a POWERHOUSE. I've just completed a three peat in which I scored 147 points a game (36 point differential). That was my most dominant year statistically. Took forever to get the personnel to reach that level of offensive efficiency. Anyway, first game of the next season, I play the Sixers who are ranked #1 in power rankings. They absolutely kicked my but in the first half. I trailed by 24 at halftime. I didn't even break 50 in the first half for the first time in forever. They dominated me on the boards and from three. Okafor was a monster. Their defense and offense was insane.

I had to play out of my mind in the second half to claw all the way back and win the game. I've never played a more enjoyable game in 2k. Getting my behind kicked was a huge wake up call. I've never played a more complete, dominating team either.

I love how the CPU rebuilds in this game. Each team seems to have different strategies. Some are a better than others. It seems to take a team 5 years or so to become contenders, and a few more than that to become a complete powerhouse. It's long, but it's so rewarding when you finally get that beast team.

Doesn't matter, in all previous 2K games, I could have them in the playoffs or better in two years or less
