They are better than they used to be although I find most of them underwhelming and also there is not enough splashes.

the complaint last year was that there were too many, lol

I think it's because most of them are reserved for perfect releases.

I agree it can always improve though, definitely isn't perfect....it's just something I thought took a step forward

Yeah mostly and I don't get that many that's why I'am very thirsty for some splashes. I don't think a perfect release should be the factor in what kind of animation you get at the rim.

The rim interaction really isn't physics based IMO. Seems more like a predetermined outcome based off a bunch of factors of course. I love the bounces IMO. Could they be done better? Of course but there is enough variety for me to be satisfied.
