I've been playing since release, and I still have no clue what the Gatorade items in the store do.
I was hoping someone here could explain what they do, and how they're used.

They're for stamina, and they activate themselves.

Is it ever required? I don't think i've ever required more stamina for a game haha

I have a guy I play with who swears by them. I've never bought or needed them. He's a C and I'm a SF. I would be curious what the general consensus is.
