Then real basketball tactics would be a lot more effective in Pro Am.

Until then, I expect to get cheesed to death every single game in Pro Am, especially against teams in the top 1000 rankings.

If nothing changes between now and the Road to the Finals tournament, then I expect the championship game to be an ugly game of 2K with no resemblance to real basketball, just like the final game was in last year's head to head tournament where it was nothing but trapping zones and alley oop spam.
The things you mention seem like they could be easily implemented, so it appears clear that they have made a design decision about how H2H play is to going to be.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

The fastbreak is pretty easy to stop if you have 2 guys running back on defence as soon as the shot goes up. Every time I'm not the one shooting, I'm running back on defence as fast as possible, this includes free throws as well. If you're getting killed on the break it's probably because you've got too many people trying to crash the offensive boards or not getting back on d.

What really hurts you the most with fastbreak points is it makes the other teams guards heat up really quickly because of microwave and unfazed. I run with a 6'2 outside point guard and if I get some early fast break points I pretty much have double rings on offence the entire games, which means I have 99 3pt shot instead of 89 and I can shoot off screens and hit at a pretty high clip. If teams try to help out on me then I kick it to the open man for the easy shot.

If I don't have the double rings on offence it's a lot harder to shoot good percentages. Stopping the break is pretty crucial and it's very doable.

I have break starter and my full court passes are so perfect I stopped doing it. It literally abuses the game.

I don't agree.

While I agree that I'd rather see it look more like basketball.... it's still a video game - not basketball.

Just like in FPS esports - people use "cheese" to win, it isn't what shooting a person in real life is like... but you're watching to see competitive gaming, not an accurate portrayal of a war.

That said, I do hope they can figure out how to make it look more like basketball.

I understand it's just a game but from the jump 2K has always been the more sim approach as compared to other basketball games.

Just because it's popular doesn't mean it needs to abandon what got it to the top.

And you're talking about Call of Duty probably, or even like Counterstrike...them games aren't meant to be simulations of war. They have games for that lol

Having certain things be too-sim might ruin the fun, even for guys who fully want that experience. But certain things like having 2 giant centers standing in the paint all game, and just throwing 90 foot passes is not only NOT sim...it's not even close to representing street ball even. It just doesn't happen in the sport lol.

You don't even need break starter, our C has never upgraded his ball control and can do them no problem. Its funny because I'm on his complain and I'm the one crying about cheesing.

I've pretty well told my friends when we play team up not to throw the ball to anyone who isn't in front of the halfcourt line. It's just not fun to turn the games into Hail-Mary contests.

I even had a guy getting frustrated with me a few nights ago because I was playing the point and walking the ball up the court after made baskets. He wanted me to get the inbounds and throw long passes up the court. He kept telling me how he got 22 assists in a game doing this (although I noticed that I never could get him to tell me how many turnovers he had). I kept telling him that I knew full court passes are overly effective this year, but that's not very realistic and not the way I want to play. Fortunately, the PF and C inbounded the ball most of the time, and of course they loved the fact that I walked it up and fed the post when I could. It meant they got to actually play offense instead of watching the guards throw baseball passes all game.
