Why does it feel like magnets are pulling me everywhere online?

Is this some kind of "Defensive Help" thing where the game drags me to a defender to make sure I stay on him?

Is there any way to turn this off? I know you can turn off Defensive Help offline, but it doesn't seem you can online... or maybe it's just weird lag?


All I know is, if I'm being guarded in the paint and want to free the paint up for my teammate, I can just start running toward the 3point line and he will be dragged along with me.

Anyone else notice the magnets that drag your player and can anyone explain what is actually going on?

Who to guard arrow pulls you toward who you're supposed to guard. Don't know why they made that. sometimes rotating on D is necessary, and helping out if the cutter got passed your team-mate defender. That magnetic thing makes it so hard to protect the paint against players someone else is supposed to be guarding

Can someone test if turning off who to guard helps? Not that it matters anyway, apparently im guarding 5 people and always get a defensive breakdown on a guy that wasn't mine in the first place. And I notice the magnetic feel a lot on pro-am.

It really throws me off in the pro am when I'm guarding a 2 on 1 fastbreak . The game really pushes me to hard to one player without my decision.

It's not L2, it's the computer trying to "help" me by moving me closer to who they think I should be defending.

Maybe they think it's like shooting games where the game helps you aim your gun, but it's really not helpful at all.

It doesn't just happen on defense, as the "magnets" will kick in offense too whenever you're spotting up in the corner for a three. The game likes to pull your player's feet inside the three point line for some reason, even if your joystick is neutral and you aren't pressing any buttons.
